Stop The War on Marijuana NOW!
* There were 1,429 prisoners for marijuana and hashish offenses in 2005, according to the Department of Corrections.
* Marijuana enforcement currently costs the state's taxpayers an estimated $160 million per year.
* We need to get our priorities straight, prohibition is a waste of tax payers dollars.
* The California Marijuana Party believes we should make marijuana offences law enforcements lowest priority, this will save the state money and allow police to focus on violent crimes.
* Our taxes would be better spent preventing a state of emergency by providing better schools, health care, community resources, levees, roads and for fixing up California in general.
The California Marijuana Party supports a system of "tax and regulate" that could yield the state billions in revenue.
